As I write this letter, I have no inkling which media will have the nerve to publish it. In all likelihood the mainstream media for all intents and purposes may deem it too sensitive or not consistent with its current allegiance, to publish my letter.

Meanwhile, there is no promise either that RPK's blog will be able to feature my letter knowing too well that it got hacked recently and very brutally too.

Hence, between these two extremes of the Malaysian reality vis-a-vis the universal principle of the right to know and the right to inform, is the floating harsh reality of our current state of democracy.

And please cut the nonsense out if you are going to retort that 'this is Malaysia, a multi-racial society and we have to be careful about sensitivity or otherwise there will be riots'.

On Sunday, already thirty thousand people were reported to have assembled at Kelana Jaya stadium. The arrival of Anwar Ibrahim later that night was a much-awaited moment for thousands of citizens who were able to make it to the venue despite all the pre-event propaganda by the authorities.

The human spirit has never been so liberated since the Dark Ages owing to the advent of the 'New Media'.

Meanwhile, for millions more nationwide, the Internet remains as the only medium of preferred choice as we stay glued to the computer for the latest posting.

Several pertinent questions and concerns surface in the wake of the high-pitched sagas that have been rocking the nation of late.

The powers that be do not seem to recognise early that their credibility and reputation have been smashed and is now being steam-rolled over. And any further rhetoric or court battles and police investigations is not going to clean the tattered and soiled linen of those in power - believe me.

The man of the hour is beyond doubt, not the PM or his deputy. It is not even any one of them secretly vying for the president's post within Umno. On the contrary it is Anwar Ibrahim.

And this truth may be a bitter and too big a pill to swallow for many within the cauldrons of the BN and its component parties.

I say cauldron because it is a fact that while the BN has been battling so much of in-fighting and scandal after scandal in these past several months, Pakatan Rakyat has been solidly behind each another.

This solidarity been displayed by the 'opposition' parties continuing to inspire and raise the hopes of the rakyat .

Any attempt from now on to retard the spirit of the rakyat will only spell the speedier demise of all the Humpty-Dumptys.

Politicians need to step back and do some serious critical thinking and reflection. Ask yourselves the one all important question - what is the rakyat saying?

And if you cannot answer that question or even provide explanations to the answer, you are already doomed.

The world has moved well past the era of regimes and gun power. Today, it is a war with people power. People have been empowered with the rise and insurmountable power of the digital media.

The phenomenal text-messaging power in the hands of every adult and children is far too powerful for any police or military logistic. This, the corridors of power must learn fast though it it just may be too late in the day.

It will serve the nation far better for those clinging to power to relent and let the rakyat's hope for a free, democratic, corruption-free Malaysia to blossom. It is clear as daybreak that the nation has lost its belief in the existing governance.

And it is equally true that people in the territories governed by the 'opposition' parties are thrilled day by day at the greater successes they are witnessing.

Politics must always remain in the best interest of the rakyat and the nation. Not in the best interest of what a politician thinks should be best for all.

Hence, the earlier the politicians can learn their lesson and allow the freeing of this nation from the clutches of corruption, preferential politics, and self-enrichment governance, the better for them.

People came by the tens of thousands to rally behind Anwar Ibrahim not to find out what he has to promise. It was a voice to register the rakyat's preferred choice. Let us not be fools and deny ourselves this re-birth.

Indeed, the longer the powers that be stand stubbornly in the way, the greater the loss for Malaysia.

It is time for a nation to be re-born. Let us make it incident free just like how we won Merdeka.
