Auditor's report: 'Why hasn't action been taken?'
‘What is the point? Who cares for these annual review and reports? We have hardly heard of any action taken to rectify the errors or implement the recommendations proposed.’
Fuel abuse involving gov't vehicles found
Yuvan: What is the point? Who cares for the Auditor-General's annual review and reports?
We have hardly heard of any action taken to rectify the errors or implement the recommendations proposed.
If the government is really serious about the Auditor-General's report, it should not hesitate to initiate disciplinary action against any of its staff involved in fraudulent purchases and abuse of its properties.
The matter should also be reported to the MACC as a majority of the 'errors' reported in the auditors-general's report are nothing short of corruption.
Of course, we cannot expect anything positive or meaningful to happen if the government wants to treat these mismanagement and abuse of its properties as just some 'technical' issues that can be 'resolved' among themselves.
Chee Hoe Siew:
Yoohooo...MACC...Where are youuuuuuu...?AliBapak: Just because the so-called executive councillors are from Umno, you can expect MACC to turn a blind eye to all this wrong doings.
However, if such acts had been committed by the opposition, MACC would have sprang into action immediately. Shame on the MACC.
Another issue is why didn't the MACC act against DPM Muhuyuddin Yassin when he used a military helicopter to open an Umno meeting in Sabah recently?
If this is not double standards practiced by MACC, then I do not know what else to say. It is time for MACC to be disbanded.
'BN won't intervene in MCA'
Daisiu: By the look of the infighting in MCA, only another EGM to elect new leaders can resolve the matter.
There should not be any conditions barring any of the present leaders from standing for re-election.
This so that the delegates will have the opportunity to elect the selfless leaders and throw out the selfish and immoral ones who have brought shame and disrepute to the party and its community.
Dr Jacob George:
Why the need for all the spin? Why the need for closed-door negotiations and camel exchanges?Just follow the cardinal principle - return the party's future and its direction back to the members/ delegates and allow them at a fresh election to determine who should lead the party.
Do not rob the delegates of that mandate. After the last EGM, the whole lot should go if they have any principles or morality left in them.
Fresh elections is the key - period.
News of my exit premature, says Ku Li
Kgen: Alas, Tengku Razaleigh's only hope for prime ministership lies not in Umno but in a move to PKR and a successful Pakatan Rakyat takeover of the federal government.
Without any power base, his dreams of capturing the Umno presidency will remain dreams. But Ku Li still not prepared to move out of his comfort zone and clings instead to the illusory hopes of Umno reforms.
Yes, at 72, it cannot be denied that he is ‘old’ but there is still one last chance for a glorious finale and to end up on the right side of history.
The future lies not in Umno but in the PKR, not in BN but in Pakatan, not in racism but in multi-culturalism.
It is for Tengku Razaleigh to seize the chance to be remembered as the architect of a new Malaysia or fade away quietly into a footnote in history.
Tong Yee Ming:
Whether Tengku Razaleigh is in or out of Umno, it would not make any difference to the crooks in Umno.In fact, they would be happy if he leaves so that there is one less thorn in their sides.
Bernard Low Teng Hong:
I like Tengku Razaleigh but I don't think he could become a leader in Umno.Umno is corrupt, Razaleigh is clean. So, Razaleigh, it is good for either to leave Umno or retire from politics.
Sept 16: No cure for being shortchanged
KayKay: Sabah and Sarawak are simply too different from Peninsular Malaysia to be in the same federation. Still, it's better to make the best of a bad situation.
Sabah and Sarawak should work with Brunei and Kalimantan towards an European Community- style common market since the Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines - East Asean Growth Area (Bimp-Eaga) concept has failed.
Both Malaysia and Indonesia, for their own good, should back the idea of a common market in Borneo.
This Borneo Common Market idea should also be adopted by Asean. Perhaps then, Bimp-Eaga can be resurrected.
