Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Mohamed Nazri Aziz told the Dewan Rakyat last week that there would be no further action to be taken by the Attorney-General's Chambers on the case as there were no evidence to show that criminal offences had been committed on the issue of abuse of power in the appointment of judges.

The commission was set up in 2007 to investigate alleged intervention into the appointment of judges following the release of a video clip showing a man on the telephone purportedly brokering the appointment of judges.

The commission later identified the man to be senior lawyer VK Lingam.
