Two Barisan Nasional state assemblypersons find it hard to believe that former Selangor menteri besar Muhammad Muhd Taib has heaped praise on the state's Pakatan Rakyat government.

umno supreme council special meeting 260809 muhammad mohd taib Kuang state assemblyperson Abdul Shukur Idrus said he will conduct a probe to see if the "story" is true.

"I do not think that Mat Taib ( left ), who has a strong Malay spirit and also a strong Umno supporter, would back the opposition.

"Let me investigate the matter first," he said.

Selangor Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim claimed that he had met Muhammad three days ago and the latter had told him, "Khalid, if this is how you govern Selangor, we (Umno) are doomed."

'Retired politicians should zip up'

Meanwhile, Kuala Kubu Bharu state assemblyperson Wong Koon Mun said "retired politicians should make sure they keep their mouths shut".

"Why would Muhammad comment? I do not know why these people still comment when they are no longer in positions of power. I think this is wrong.

"This scenario is similar to what Tengku Razaleigh (Hamzah) has done. When he is in power, he never voiced his opinion," he said.

Yesterday, Khalid also said Taib is willing to work with the Pakatan state government to uplift the living conditions of the people in rural areas.
