Solidariti Anak Muda Malaysia (Samm) plans to lodge a police report on Thursday over the "illegal" transfer of RM10 million to London by Negri Sembilan Menteri Besar Mohamad Hasan.

"There will be no reason for the police not to probe the matter. This is illegal money transfer and it is a betrayal of our country," he said today.

The report will be lodged at the Bukit Aman commercial crimes division at 9am, while a protest will be held nearby, he said.

Badrul, also a PKR supreme council member, said he has invited various youth groups and several BN Youth leaders to take part in the demonstration.

"We are in the midst of mobilising young people from around the Klang Valley," he said.

Badrul also described the case as the litmus test for inspector-general of police (IGP) Musa Hassan.

"If it had (involved) a non-Barisan Nasional (BN) leader, he would have made all sorts of remarks. We will now see how much the IGP does. If no action is taken, he is obviously a BN lackey," he said.

Badrul also claimed that the menteri besar has fallen out of favour with top leaders.

"He did not answer when asked about the matter during the state assembly sitting. He should not continue to be arrogant as young people take this matter very seriously. Since it is evident that Mohamad Hasan is responsible for this, he should be replaced," he added.

‘Not a big issue'

However, Mohamad's special officer Mohd Shukri Shamsudin said this is "not a big issue" and that the central bank has yet to approach the menteri besar.

"If there was wrongdoing, Bank Negara would have taken action against him way earlier," he said when contacted this morning.

PKR director of strategy Tian Chua had recently alleged that Mohamad had broken banking laws by transferring funds amounting to RM10 million through a money changer last year.

Bank Negara confirmed last week that it has opened an investigation into the claim.
