vox populi small thumbnail 'The ‘great shame' in this case should be on the Malaysian government for its refusal to honour a citizen's (Fatine's) freedom of choice. Go shame those who have been stealing from and bleeding the country dry.'

M'sian transsexual fighting deportation in UK to be punished

Dood: The only "shame" here is from the Malaysian authorities who revealed their bigotry when they refused to accept her lifestyle.

Yong Sheet Fay: The "great shame" in this case should be on the Malaysian government for its refusal to honour a citizen's (Fatine's) freedom of choice. Go shame those who have been stealing from and bleeding the country dry . Go shame those who, through their thoughtless and dishonest acts, have caused the ruination and death of Malaysians.

Pak Ubu: I would like to ask the Immigration director-general: Have you caught the officers involved in selling helpless refugees to slave‑traders? And are you aware that the cruel and inhumane way you've been treating immigration detainees has made Malaysia look more uncivilised than Burma, Zimbabwe and Namibia?

Penangite: I hope the British Home Office or the British ambassador to Malaysia is reading this article. Look what your country is doing to an innocent human being who only wants to live in peace in your beautiful country. And all this for a technicality. Surely that can be rectified. Please temper justice with humanity.

Stomping on images not our culture: PKR

SunShine1: I have always sympathised with Perak's Pakatan Rakyat. However, I and the Malaysian public cannot condone the amateurish, childish behaviour of these MPs. Please grow up and grow up quickly and behave like a statesman like Anwar Ibrahim.

Stay patient, show respect and maintain decorum. Adopt the words and deeds of a mature, educated, and cultured leader. However, that said, Pakatan Rakyat will still have my vote come the next general election.

Abdul Rahman Lim: This is an act of frustration carried out by the politicians on behalf of the rakyat who were betrayed. What respect are you talking about? Do these three idiots (who switched sides) deserve respect?

Till today, I am sure they are spat at whenever their names are mentioned or they themselves are seen on the TV and in the print media. Why are Pakatan supporters always shouting the wrong tune at the wrong time? Why are you all keeping mum about the actions of those Umno idiots who burnt posters of Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng (because LGE is a Chinese)?

I strongly believe that we, as supporters of Pakatan, should support any act carried out by our PKR politicians. We speak as one, unlike those BN/Umno idiots who are hypocrites. I sympathise with those who voted for MCA, MIC and PPP.

Tan Chee Kiong: It's only an expression to show their frustration and anger against the three BN-friendly stooges for betraying their parties and the trust of those who had voted for them. If they had resigned and become a true independents due to personal and ideological differences, then people will not blame them for doing so.

But joining hands with BN to oust the Perak Pakatan state government is too much for anyone to stomach. No right-minded person will accept and forgive them. Others from Umno/BN have done worst things than stepping on photos, but not one soul have criticised them for that.

Sarajun Hoda: PKR's Zahrain Mohamad Hashim is pulling a cheap publicity stunt on the Pakatan coalition's expense. They can bring this up in Pakatan meetings. So why go to the BN media, which is always waiting to hit at Pakatan?

(Deputy Prime Minister) Muhyiddin Yassin says it is a display of low mentality. What mentality does BN possess then, for using them to bring down an democratically-elected government in Perak? Puad Zarkasi admits DAP/PKR was reckless in selecting Hee and the other ex-PKR members. If they are so bad, why BN is using them? BN has an even worse mentality?

S'wak on warpath with AG

Yuvan: Illegal logging activities have been going on for decades in Sarawak. The state's political leaders and government officials, who are corrupt to the core, are aware of this. Naturally, they are upset with the auditor‑general's report because the report exposes their mismanagement and lack of enforcement.

Pressure should be applied on the Sarawak state government to explain how the timber concessions are granted and managed, and to name all the parties involved in these concessions. The greed and corrupt activities of some unscrupulous political and business leaders is the cause for the destruction of millions of hectares of permanent forest reserves in Sarawak.

But can we trust BN leaders at the federal level to intervene and do something meaningful to stop all this abuse? I don't think so because the federal BN government is at the mercy of some uncouth politicians in Sarawak (and also Sabah) for its very survival.
