The RM2 million defamation suit by Jazimin Abdul Jalil, the father of Nurin Jazlin who was brutally murdered three years ago, will be heard by the High Court on Nov 10.

Jazimin who filed the suit on Aug 21, 2008 named Selangor police chief Khalid Abu Bakar, the inspector-general of police and the government for making defamatory statements that Nurin's disappearance was connected to Ah Longs.

He said the defendants statements which appeared in a newspaper article under the headline 'Siasat Ah Long Larikan Nurin' (Probe claim that Ah Longs had abducted Nurin) had tarnished his good name and reputation.

The statements meant that Jazimin had taken loans from Ah Longs and this had endangered the lives of family members.

Nurin, 8, was abducted near her house in Section 1, Wangsa Maju, on Aug 20, 2007. Her body was found in a sports bag 27 days later.

Deputy registrar K Pavani fixed the hearing date when the suit came up for case management today.
