Perak: 'Three years not a long wait'

your say ‘As long as Pakatan does its job right, it will have no problem in getting the people's support in the next election. Three years, after all, is not a long wait.’

PAS leader asks all to accept decision

Chee Hoe Siew: It is a wise decision to move on from this saga because it has dragged on for too long. Pakatan should remember that they are not here to get involved in power struggles. They should have the objective of serving the people, which is the most important thing.

If Pakatan continues to be immersed in power-grabbing, BN will make headway in regaining the people's confidence. It is time that Pakatan review its strategy and look at its purpose of existence.

As long as Pakatan does its job right, it will have no problem in getting the people's support in the next election. Three years, after all, is not a long wait.

'Why Nizar cannot be Perak MB'

Reformer: Anwar Ibrahim, Mohd Nizar Jamaluddin and the other Pakatan Rakyat leaders are to blame for this obscene decision. Nizar as the then menteri besar kept saying that the situation was under control. He totally underestimated the ‘frogs’. He messed up big time because he could have called a snap election but he had no guts to do it until it was too late.

Now what has happened? Let's this be a lesson for Pakatan. BN is encouraged by this judgement and you can bet your bottom ringgit they’ll do everything to sabotage Penang, Selangor and Kedah as well.

We hear of many Pakatan representatives now saying that they are not happy with the coalition. The states above should just call a snap election and rid the party of the undesirable characters within their midst before they do more damage to Pakatan.

CK Chang: Like in a football match, if there is no decisive winner even after extra time, what do you do? Go for penalty kicks. In this case, go back to the people and see who they vote for.

Baiyuensheng: Chief Justice of Malaya Justice Arifin Zakaria said the question of confidence in the menteri besar may be tested by means other than a vote of no-confidence in the legislative assembly. This sounds is so undemocratic like a prime minister or MB can be selected other than through the voting process.

So if a Pakatan candidate got 50.5 percent of the vote against a BN candidate with 49.5 percent of the vote, the BN candidate may be selected as the MB since ‘there are other means to determine the extent of the popular vote’.

Zambry still on shaky ground

Victor Johan:

Just recently, the Federal Court had overturned its own judgement by Eussoff Chin concerning the title of a land deal. It’s an example of 'selective’ or ‘situational’ judgement. Later on down the track, and when convenient, the Federal Court will reverse the judgement on Perak.

Can't wait for Pakatan Rakyat to rule from Putrajaya so as to correct all this injustice and corruption that had prevailed since ex-PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad's time.

Jbss: A court-installed menteri besar to replace a legitimate MB mandated by the rakyat can never be conferred real 'legitimacy' and acceptance by the rakyat.

They have done their worst in destroying democratic principles and usurping the rakyat's power but you, Mohd Nizar Jamaluddin, you must still do your best for the people.

Doc: I doubt that Zambry Abdul Kadir and the other Perak BN representatives can work with Nizar and Pakatan based on the four pre-conditions (which I consider fair demands) that Pakatan has outlined.

On the land issue, dishing out land to BN cronies is like a birthright for BN representatives so that's a no-no. Secondly, BN/Umno representaties and leaders have no idea what ‘accountability, justice, welfare, transparency and trustworthiness’ mean. Therefore, they can't be expected to practice what they don't understand.

RR: Nizar's offer to Zambry is very fair. If Zambry really has the interests of Perakians at heart, he would heed to the conditions set forward by Nizar. Otherwise, the three ‘frogs’ will dictate to Zambry to promote their self-interests. Soon, other cronies will follow suit.

I hope some good sense will prevail in the interests of the people. The judgement has brought shame to the judiciary.

Arbeena: Kalau dah kalah, buatlah macam orang kalah. (Since you lost, then conduct yourself as a loser). Just prepare yourself for next election.

Kgen: Snap elections are the best way out for BN but they cannot fathom the need for a fresh mandate given the fact that they are already in power.

Apa Ini: A government was voted in by the people but a new one has been installed by the court a result of the actions of three frogs. Now it’s even worse because the MB speaks as if he is backed by the people . Doesn’t he feel ashamed of declaring victory? If he were an honest winner, he should let the people decide.
