Anwar Ibrahim’s accuser Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan will not likely be celebrating the latest Facebook fanpage set up in his name that registers the extent of support - or otherwise - he enjoys.

mohd saiful bukhari azlan 4 at jawi 271108 A new - though anonymous - Facebook account entitled ‘ I Hate Saiful Bukhari ’ posted on Feb 5, 2010, has currently more than 24,400 ‘fans’.

It has even outstripped Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak ’s Facebook account in terms of the rate at which it has picked up fans.

Najib was yesterday reported to have expressed his ‘ delight ’ in having passed the 100,000 mark since his Facebook account was registered in mid-October, 2009.

After only 15 days of existence, 'I Hate Saiful Bukhari' has notched up 24,443 fans - and counting.

        

The creator of the account appeared to be a Pakatan Rakyat supporter, judging by the looks of three of his or her ‘favourite’ Facebook fanpages.

'I Hate BN'

One favourite fanpage is entitled ‘I Hate BN ’, another is ‘ Anak Muda Benci Umno ’ (Youth who hate Umno), while yet another proclaims to be ‘ Belia Benci Rasuah ’ (Youth who hate corruption).

                

According to one fan of 'I Hate Saiful Bukhari' who tipped off Malaysiakini about the Facebook fan page, the account was created because “we hate Saiful (for) creating slander against Anwar Ibrahim”.

The fanpage was also intended to be a platform to share information on Saiful, BN and other political issues, said the reader.

On the other side of the fence, a ‘ I Hate Anwar Ibrahim ’ Facebook account has chalked up 2,767 fans since its posting in early January.

NONE Saiful had earlier lodged a complaint over an alleged death threat against him that had been posted on Anwar's Facebook. 

Mohd Saiful, 25, accuses the 63-year-old Anwar of having sodomised him in 2008 during the time that he acted as the latter's aide .

Anwar has asserted that the charge is part of a plot to thwart his political aspirations.
