Altantuya: A plea for justice, not vengeance

Altantuya's dad: Please no gallows for them

Kgen: Instead of the public chipping in to raise the RM1.25 million for Stev Shaariibuu's court case, I prefer the money be collected for his late daughter's family instead. Knowing what the Malaysian judiciary is like, with any case involving the government, his chance of winning is close to zero.

Keturunan Malaysia: Dr Shaariibuu, I fully agree with you... no gallows for them. If they are not acting entirely on their own which I suspect, then so much the better. As they say, dead men tells no lies... neither will they be able to tell any more truth.

Disgusted: Unfortunately Dr Shaarribuu's wish for the convicted police personnel will not be granted. Those involved will make sure that they are executed soonest or placed somewhere with changed identities and enough money to live on. If they are given life imprisonment, there are chances they will expose the real masterminds in time.

Neders: My heart bleeds for you, Dr Shaariibuu. You've have lost your beloved daughter and although no amount of money can bring her back, these scumbags are doing all they can to deny you what is due of your grandchildren.

Have they no conscience? It is a matter of fact now that your daughter was murdered by two Malaysian police officers. Aren't the powers-that-be accountable? Where is the justice?

KSM: Someone from the government should reply to all his accusations. Why hide? If the government continues to ignore the issue more people will speculate. The two accused have been found guilty. Why is it that the question of why they did it did not arise?

In what way were these two involved with Altantuya? The victim and the accused were people whose lives ran parallel and never should have met. Why then did they do what they did? Was it just a simple wayside robbery that went wrong? Or were they instructed to do what they did?

The questions have been asked and if the government does not answer them, the spillover will be felt in the next general elections.

Manoharan urges PKR to field Uthaya

Ferdtan: P Uthayakumar said before that he is not interested in political power and he only wanted to serve the Indian community. Now he forms a political party and even wants to contest for a post if given the chance.

He knows that he cannot win alone as the Malay and Chinese community will never support him; so his best change is to piggyback on Pakatan Rakyat. It is better for Uthayakumar to champion the Indian community as an NGO and as a pressure group. That way you can do more work for the Indians.

Ichigo: Inclusiveness is the key, I don't see any harm including people with different viewpoints as long as the common goal is to change the government for the betterment of the rakyat and the nation as a whole.

Give Uthaya the chance to contest the Hulu Selangor by-election although I don't agree with his greater plan, which is based on race. Sorry to say, Uthaya can't win on his own. He won't make it without the votes from other races.

Yuvan: It is true that Indian support for Pakatan has eroded since the last general elections. But I do not think Uthayakumar is the right candidate for Hulu Selangor.

Uthayakumar has become critical of PKR's leadership and has thus incurred the displeasure of a number of PKR leaders. How are they going to speak in support of him and campaign for him in Hulu Selangor? Moreover, Uthayakumar is seen more as a 'warrior' and not as a leader.

The Indian community today needs not just a warrior but also a strong and an effective leader. Uthayakumar may stand as an independent and get a sizeable amount of votes out sympathy from the Indian electorate but that will not be enough for him to win the seat.

Jeffrey: Uthayakumar has yet to prove that he can work for the benefit of all, and not just for the Indians. Our country needs farsighted leaders, not race-based leaders like Uthayakumar. If he is only interested in helping Indians, what about the other races? Uthayakumar should use this opportunity to fight for the betterment of all Malaysians.

Zubir: It's a bad idea. It's like proposing Ibrahim Ali to stand for Pakatan again. Pakatan should put in someone who had been in the struggle for a long time.

By-election can go either way

Parameswara: Uthayakumar said recently, as posted on his website, "We have to create Indian majority seats in 15 parliamentary and 38 state seats. For a start we focus on one state seat and one parliament seat in Tiram (state) and Tebrau (parliament) in Johor, which I hereby also launch."

So, if his party now contests in Hulu Selangor, he is going against what he declared to his supporters. They will have to decide if this is the leader they want. But Pakatan, meanwhile, can face this challenge like what they did in Bukit Selambau, Kedah, and win with a higher majority.

Manusia: I think it really does not matter who stands but do the people of Hulu Selangor see how it benefits them? Politicians will come forth with their own platforms in an election, but to date, surprisingly no one reported on what the people of Hulu Selangor think.

Malkith Singh: If S Samy Vellu has the guts, he should field himself. He goes around getting garlanded and tries to project an aura of popularity. This could be a good test. I'll wager that he'll keep his deposit but his loss would be great.

It is time he recognises that he is a spent force, an unpopular leader and the Indians would be better served with his exit.
