Ronnie Liu's aide Wong Chuan How has been acquitted of criminal breach of trust to the amount of RM2,500.

NONE This is the third and final graft charge that Wong (left) faced.

He had secured an acquittal in the two previous cases as well.

In making the decision, Shah Alam Sessions Court judge Mat Ghani Abdullah also admonished on the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) over its investigations.

“In my view, the MACC should have charged the third witness former PKR member Mohd Zaini Abdul Rahman, who accepted the money,” he ruled this morning.

"I have (looked) through the prosecution's case and find that it has failed to prove a prima facie case...hence, the accused is discharged and acquitted of the offence and that the bond should be returned.”

Wong, 51, was accused of misusing money meant for a gotong-royong project and meet-the-people session in Kampung Baru Lanjut, Sungai Pelek, Sepang. The alleged offence was committed between. July 30, 2008 and Sept 16, 2008.

The prosecution called six witnesses during the hearing.

DAP stalwart Lim Kit Siang, criticised the MACC for persecuting Pakatan Rakyat leaders and aides, despite the lack of evidence.

"They are going after small fish rather then the big fish in BN politicians," he noted.
