Ipoh police chief ACP Azisman Alias has sent the seminal fluid soiled skirt of the 14-year-old-schoolgirl allegedly raped by five of her schoolmates at Ipoh Parade in October last year to the chemist department in Ipoh for its report.

Speaking to Malaysiakini today, Azisman said he was unhappy that the victim's mother had held back this piece of evidence for nearly six months before surrendering the item to the police yesterday.

He said any evidence in a crime scene must be handed over to the police on the same day to expedite investigations.

He said such delays could be construed as tampering with the evidence and subject to questioning in future by the alleged rapists' lawyers.

He also added that victims of crime should have full confidence in the police force by providing close cooperation with the department to ensure justice for themselves.

Reinvestigating case

Yesterday, DAP state secretary and Taiping MP Nga Kor Ming had submitted two pieces of evidence on the case to the responsible police officer to help in reopening the investigation.

NONE Nga (far right) had managed to persuade the victim's mother to part with her daughter's soiled skirt for the police.

Apparently, the mother had kept back this piece of evidence as she had no confidence in the police in getting justice for her daughter since the alleged rapists are members of wealthy families, he added.

He did not want to comment on the video clip of the incident that he had submitted to the police.

According to Nga the victim was raped after she was offered a spiked drink to make her unconscious before two of them took turns to allegedly committed the offence with the other three looking on.

The suspects were arrested after the victim lodged a police report but were set free, for lack of evidence.
