The Kelantan government was today urged to reveal the role of Global Media Channel (GMC), which has been linked to the claim by blogger Kickdefella (Syed Azidi Syed Abdul Aziz) of him receiving over RM4 million to carry out activities to discredit then prime minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

Former Kelantan PKR Youth head Wan Khairul Ihsan Wan Ahmad said this was because GMC was once helmed by Syed Azidi's wife and a number of Kelantan PAS leaders.

"GMC was set up in July 2007 and has been linked to the claim by Kickdefella of him being given an allocation of that amount.

"The state government needs to disclose the actual role of GMC like what has been exposed in the newspapers today," he told reporters here.

Syed Azidi had recently through his blogsite claimed that for a period of three years he had spent more than RM4 million on buying assets and equipment and paying for operational, printing and other costs for the PAS psywar.

Wan Khairul Ihsan said the public needed to know where the money came from.

Reveal logging concessions too

He also urged the state government to disclose the names of those who received logging concessions in Kelantan, like what had been done before by the federal government over the approved permit (AP) issue.

"If the Kelantan government claimed to be transparent, it must reveal the recipients' names," he said.

Wan Khairul Ihsan also said that more PKR members would follow his move of quitting the party and joining Umno as they realised that the opposition pact, especially PAS and PKR in Kelantan, were not on the same wavelength over many issues.

He said he was prepared to take up the challenge from any quarters to expose more ills in the opposition pact as he was saddened by the accusation that he had a vested interest in joining Umno.

"I decided to quit PKR and join Umno because I do want to see the people continued to be fooled by the opposition pact," he added.
