The Sultan's consort, Tengku Anis Tengku Abd Hamid, has not prevented a panel of doctors from Hospital Universiti Sains Malaysia (HUSM) from treating her husband, Tuanku Ismail Petra, as reported in an English daily today.

According to a friend of Tengku Muhammad Fakhry, the third son of the Sultan, "it is a lie if someone say Tuanku (Ismail) is not being treated by specialist" at the hospital.

The friend, Mohd Soberi Shafii who runs his blog Yang kudengar dan kulihat (What I see and what I hear) today said a team of six doctors, which include specialists, are monitoring Tuanku Ismail round the clock for 24 hours.

He said it was illogical for anyone not wanting  to see the Sultan  recover, whereas the rakyat had been praying for his well-being.

The daily the New Straits Times today reported that the Attorney General Abdul Gani Patail, is seeking Tengku Anis's permssion to allow a panel of doctors treat the Sultan.

Abdul Gani warned that Tengku Anis has been given till "sometime this week" to do so or risk facing legal action.

This development has seen the Kelantan royal family crisis deepening further, as Tengku Anis is reportedly refusing to leave the Royal Ward at the HUSM hospital in Kubang Kerian, where the Sultan is warded.

Tengku Anis, is said to be suspicious of the Regent, Tengku Muhammad Faris, who has been Acting Sultan, since the incapacitation of his father in May last year.

In the mean time, according to sources, Tengku Fakhry has adopted a "wait and see" attitude while observing events unfolding.

"It is quite likely that Tengku Fakhry will not do anything in the next one to two days," said a source who is close to the royal family.

Royal relatives barred from visiting sultan

Meanwhile, more and more relatives of the Kelantan royal household are upset with the police for not allowing them to pay Tuanku Ismail a visit.

The sultan's uncle Tengku Abdul Aziz Tengku Hamzah alleged that the authorities have also been rough with them, when they soughtpermission to visit Tuanku Ismail "politely".

Malay daily Utusan Malaysia also quoted former president of the state's Council of Succession as claiming that his wife,Tengku Merjan Sultan Yahya Petra, sister to the sultan was not allowed to visit Tuanku Ismail.
