The family of teen shooting victim Aminulrasyid Amzah are crying foul over apparent attempts by the authorities to cover-up the truth in the teen's fatal shooting.
Aminulrasyid's sister Nor Azura Amzah (

Nor Azura was referring to allegations against the deceased made by Inspector-General of Police Musa Hassan and Selangor police chief DCP Khalid Abu Bakar.
Musa claimed that Aminulrasyid attempted to reverse his vehicle into a police personnel, who shot him in self defence, while Khalid described the teenager as a suspected criminal who was in possession of a machete at the time.
Family lawyer N Surendran said that the allegations by the duo have been disputed by key witness to the incident Azammuddin Omar, who was the passenger in Aminulrasyid’s vehicle, and others.
According to Surendran, this was tantamount to making false statements and fabrication of evidence, which is an offence under Section 193, 193 and 203 of the Penal Code.
“In my opinion, there is a clear attempt at a cover up... This is an attack against the character of Aminulrasyid and his family. They will not rest until his name is cleared,” he said.
‘Attempted murder’
Azammuddin's brother Mohd Hafizzuddin Omar also lodged a police report at the same time today, accusing the police of attempting to murder the former during the night of the incident.
Earlier, Azammuddin had lodged a police report and then told the press that Aminulrasyid fell on his lap after being shot and that he was beaten by the police after he crawled out of the car.
In the police report, Mohd Haffizuddin said his younger brother, while trying to escape from the vehicle, saw a police officer aiming a gun at him.
"I urge the police to classify the shooting at Azammuddin as an attempted murder and that they, the police personnel who assaulted my brother be investigated by an independent body," said Mohd Hafizzuddin.
