Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin regards PKR's insistence on publishing the party's newspaper Suara Keadilan although its publication permit has not been renewed, as challenging the law.

He said no one was exempted from the laws of this country.

"If they want to go against the law, ignore the warning and go ahead with publishing the newspaper, definitely they are challenging the law.

"They want to dare the government (to take action)" he said after attending a closed-door briefing on development programmes in the Pagoh parliamentary constituency in Muar today.

Muhyiddin believed the authorities would take action against any quarters who broke the law after carefully considering the matter.

suara keadilan report on felda bankrupt 220610 He was earlier asked by reporters to comment on the statement by PKR strategy director Tian Chua that the party could continue publishing Suara Keadilan although its application for permit renewal had been rejected by the Home Ministry.

Muhyiddin also said that the permit isssue was a legal issue and had nothing to do with politics.

"But Keadilan (PKR) wants to make it a political issue because it's the opposition."

On MCA's request as conveyed by its president Dr Chua Soi Lek for RM1 billion to be allocated under the Tenth Malaysia Plan (10MP) for national-type Chinese schools, Muhyiddin said the matter was still under discussion.

He said his ministry did not know yet the amount of allocation it would receive under the 10MP.

The deputy prime minister said today's briefing was on efforts to develop the Pagoh area under the 9MP and 10MP.

He said a 4,000ha land in Pagoh owned by Sime Darby would be developed into an education hub, with several local and foreign higher learning institutions to be set up there.
