Ezam sings praises for Zaid, runs Anwar down

Former PKR Youth chief Mohd Ezam Mohd Noor is singing a different tune these days.
No, he has yet to stop his attacks on his former mentor and boss Anwar Ibrahim. But he is now focusing his attention to former PKR Federal Territories chairperson Zaid Ibrahim, singing high praises for him.
Calling Zaid - the former Pakatan Rakyat coodinator - "sincere and honest, like (Prime Minister) Najib Abdul Razak", Ezam (
right
) said that there truly is no place for honesty in PKR.
"Zaid really wanted to see one common symbol for Pakatan. But not Anwar. He is a conman," said Ezam, who was Anwar's political secretary and protege until he left the party in 2006 and joined Umno two years later.
"I know Zaid. I know that Zaid may not be a great leader, he has problems. But people can see honesty. And now people can see what is lost in the party.
"There is no dedication, commitment and honesty in PKR. When Zaid came into PKR, everyone had high hopes for him. Even now he wants out," said Ezam.
The maverick lawyer had enthralled and impressed the nation when he
resigned
from his cushy post as minister in the Prime Minister's Department in protest against the arrests of Seputeh MP Teresa Kok, blogger Raja Petra Kamaruddin and a journalist under the Internal Security Act.
Zaid ( right ) had then entered PKR in June 2009 as a hero after he was sacked from Umno having been a member in the party for 20 years.
However, things seem to have taken a tumble in the Zaid -PKR relations in the run up to the party elections when he launched stinging attacks on Anwar and vice-president Azmin Ali, calling them "failed leaders".
Zaid most recently announced that he would be quitting the party although he has yet to tender his resignation.
In an interview with English daily The Star , he also said that PKR was a "party full of liars and cheats".
Taking upon himself to "expose" what he calls, a farce of a party, Ezam was the star attraction at a ceramah titled "Keadilan for whom?" organised by MCA Petaling Jaya Selatan yesterday night.
Ezam, the new darling of BN
The new blue-eyed boy of BN Selangor, Ezam, has also been going around giving ceramah around the state in BN's campaign to recapture Selangor.
Having appeared at the many ceramah organised by Umno, mainly to discredit his former boss and party, this would be the first time Ezam appeared on an MCA platform.
But even so, an MCA member himself has reservations about his methods.
In a Q&A session in the later part of the function, a man who introduced himself as an MCA Petaling Jaya Selatan member, asked how the party and BN will work to convince the voters for their support apart from launching reactionary attacks on Pakatan.
To that, Ezam insisted that Malaysians should first "be aware of the lies and manipulation by Anwar" and that BN is merely dancing to the tune of Pakatan who had been attacking them.
"This is just the first round. After that the BN leaders will outline their own agenda for the state. But our theme here tonight is to expose Anwar," he said.
