Pro-Felda settlers NGO Persatuan Anak Felda Kebangsaan (Anak) today denounced a protest held against it in a Felda settlement in Kerdau last night, saying that the protesters were being ‘used' by Umno.

NONE Anak president Mazlan Aliman ( left ) said he was disappointed that their first participation in a PAS campaign was marred by the group, which held up banners that read, Bukan anak soleh (not a good son) and the highly offensive term, haram jadah or ‘bastard'.

However, Mazlan refused to get drawn into any "provocation" by the group, which he claimed was being "used by Umno".

"I have no problem (with the protesters). I am not an enemy of the Felda settlers," said Mazlan, who is also a PAS central committee member.

"But I am enemy to those who take advantage of Felda settlers to profit, and those who victimise the settlers, who only end up suffering at the hands of such irresponsible groups."

NONE Despite the interference, Mazlan said, Anak would not lodge a report against the protesters, saying that such incidents have happened several times before.

Last night, the pro-BN blog Pisau.net reported that Mazlan's ceramah at Felda Jengka 23 was met with shouts of Ini Anak bukan anak yang soleh tapi anak haram jadah (Anak is not a good son, but a son that is a bastard).

The group of youths also held up BN flags during their protest against Mazlan, who was addressing a 60-strong crowd.
