The luxury hotel where the screening of the sex video took place earlier this week and allegedly implicated a top opposition politician has come out to clarify its position on the matter.

Admitting it had received “much publicity and gained considerable comment within the community” as the events unfolded, its management said it was releasing a statement on the matter “to clear any misconception about our hotel”, it said in an unsigned statement.

seri carcosa 3 Firstly, said Carcosa Seri Negara, which comes under the company Archipelago Hotels and Resorts Sdn Bhd, the alleged recording of the sex act caught on video “did not take place at Carcosa Seri Negara.”

Secondly, the reported presentation of the recording to the press was not made known to the management until after the fact.

“(The) management was not involved in any way in these ubiquitously reported incidents.

“As a hotel of longstanding repute and fame, and in the interest of our guests, we have always endeavoured to provide them the security and privacy during their stay at our hotel.

Once the incident had been made known to the management, Carcosa Seri Negara said it ensured “that every possible assistance and support was provided to the authorities in assisting them with their ongoing investigations”.

“Carcosa Seri Negara prides itself in providing a level of bespoke hospitality to our guests and we reiterate our continued commitment to assure them of their security and discretion at our hotel.”
