Police are awaiting the pathology and chemistry reports before wrapping up their investigation into the death of a Selangor Customs assistant director at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) office in Jalan Cochrane, Kuala Lumpur, on April 6.
Disclosing that the probe was in its final stage, Kuala Lumpur CID chief Ku Chin Wah said the investigation papers on the death of Ahmad Sarbani Mohamed, 56, would be submitted to the Attorney-General's Chambers soon.
"We expect to receive the chemistry report on Monday, while the pathologist's report based on the re-enactment at the MACC office two days ago is also expected sometime next week," Ku told reporters after attending a religious ceremony today.
He was referring to the re-enactment to retrace the last moments of Sarbani (left), who was found dead on the badminton court on the first floor of the MACC building.
Police have to date recorded statements from 42 people, including his family members, MACC officers and Customs Department personnel.
On the re-enactment, Ku said it was part of the investigation to visualise what had happened.
Sarbani was among 62 Customs officers detained on April 1 in a nationwide probe by MACC over allegations of graft involving billions of ringgit. He was later released on bail.
It was reported that he had gone to the MACC office on Jalan Cochrane to meet with MACC staff.
