Opposition leader and PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim arrived at the Dang Wangi police station today give his statement on the sex video issue.

NONE He was accompanied by his wife and daughter, PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and vice-president Nurul Izzah.

Also with them were party supreme council member R Sivarasa - acting as his lawyer - and other top party leaders.

Anwar was there to give his statement following the police report that he lodged over the sex video featuring a man resembling him.

The video was first shown to a select group of journalists at the Carcosa Seri Negara hotel in Kuala Lumpur on the morning of March 21.

The same evening, Anwar called a press conference at which he denied his involvement in the video and the next day, he filed his police complaint.

However, two clips from the video have surfaced on the Internet, with the most recent one being yesterday.

'Police in cahoots with pornographers'

Emerging from the police station an hour later, Anwar said he had also put his questions to the police, asking them why they have yet to take action against those who had put up clips of the video on their websites.

NONE "There was already a distribution of the pornographic video and I think that the police also gave (the distributors) protection.

"If not, it is impossible that the video clip can be distributed without police action and I had actually told the police about the crime of distributing pornography without pressure or action from the police," he said.

Sivarasa said the police had asked  soalan macam-macam  (all sorts of questions) but declined to elaborate what the questions were, saying that they are now under police investigation.

"But it is clear that there were orders from the top, like political instructions," the lawyer added.
