DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang took the mickey out of his arch rival Dr Chua Soi Lek, telling the MCA president that he really is not as great as he makes himself out to be.

Making fun of Chua, the former health minister, Lim took potshots at his statements on withdrawing from the government if the party were to perform as badly or worse than they did at the 2008 general elections.

lim kit siang on conversion case 210409 03 “Chua has gone out of his way to demonstrate that the MCA’s latest decision is not to be construed as a threat or a pressure to Umno, but he has no qualms whatsoever about threatening the Chinese electorate.

“Chua should not have too inflated an ego about himself or MCA,” said Lim in a statement today.

Chua was reported in The Star to have said that his party will still remain in BN even if MCA’s performance in the next general election is dismal.

“Our stand is to be with Barisan through thick and thin. We also are very confident in our Prime Minister Najib Razak's leadership,” he reportedly said.

Lim also responded to Chua’s criticism of DAP, in which the MCA chief had “lambasted” the opposition party for playing up racial issues.

NONE MCA had posted up a video of Chua on its official YouTube channel recently daring PKR to “amend the constitution and cancel the Malay rights and privileges”.

The MCA boss has since earned himself the ire of various Pakatan Rakyat leaders, although Chua said that the video was recorded when he met his Facebook fans in Johor Bahru, and that it was “taken out of context by DAP leaders”.

“For the record, I do not know what Chua is talking about as I have never visited his Facebook page.

“For that matter, I believe I can speak for the other DAP leaders and I will be very surprised if there is a single DAP leader who had ever visited Chua’s Facebook page,” said Lim.
