Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin questioned the action of a blogger who deleted all his postings in relation to the “Christian state conspiracy” controversy.

Shamsul Yunus, who blogs at Marahku , was one of the two bloggers quoted by Malay daily Utusan Malaysia in its report that accused DAP of colluding with Christian pastors to make Christianity the country’s official religion so that a Christian can become prime minister.

NONE “One of the blogs ‘exposing’ the Negara Krstian issue has deleted the entry in his blog. Why?” asked Khairy ( left ) on micro-blogging website Twitter .

“If the said blogger deleted the link because he’s realised it’s not true, it’s too late. Damage done. Anyway ‘ saya menunggu hasil siasatan ’ (I wait for investigation outcome),” he added.

Shamsul’s blog at marahku. blogspot.com was found empty today. All his postings had been deleted from the blog.

Utusan had quoted his posting titled “Agong under threat? DAP wants to make Christianity the official religion of Malaysia?” which lambasted the DAP for trying to amend the federal constitution to allow a Christian to be prime minister.

However the posting can still be viewed on other websites which had reproduced it.

Another blogger quoted by Utusan - Zakhir Mohamed, who blogs at Bigdog.com , however, still continued to blog about the issue.

The Umno-owned daily had quoted his posting headlined “Making Christianity the official religion?” which claimed that 35 pastors, at an event organised by Jelutong DAP, had taken a vow to make Christianity the official religion of Malaysia.

In his latest posting titled “Unity is majority”, Zakhir, a staunch supporter of former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad, discussed the importance of national unity.

DAP and the Christian Federation of Malaysia had denied the allegation and demanded the government to take action against Utusan.

In another related development, prominent blogger Ahirudin Attan, better know as Rocky Bru on cyberspace, revealed today in his blog that the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) had interviewed both Shamsul and Zakhir.

“The two are ‘helping’ the MCMC in its investigation into a DAP-sponsored pastors meeting in Penang last week,” read the posting.

Malaysiakini also learnt that the police had recorded statements from several of the pastors present at the event.
