This campaign, dubbed the Kempen Jelajah Selangor Tawan Malaysia Fasa 2 (Jelas 2), would kick off in Tanjong Karang on June 11.

"Selangor PKR chose to begin its campaign in Tanjong Karang because this parliamentary seat is held by Selangor Umno deputy liaison chief Noh Omar.

"We are confident that the launch will cause a major blow to the entire Umno-BN machinery, especially when they are still fighting among themselves," said Shuhaimi.

Noh has been leading the charge against the PKR-led state government and has been continuously made headlines with a slew of allegations against Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim’s administration.

He was instrumental in allegations of illegal sand mining, an allegation that has since died down, and more recently, accused state-owned Yayasan Selangor or Selangor Foundation, of being in the red.

The Jelas 2 campaign will consist of 18 events throughout the state, mostly in the form of weekend ceramah functions in the parliamentary constituencies under this phase of the campaign. The roadshow will end on July 24.

PKR will also hold a national convention in Shah Alam on June 19 to discuss its election strategies.

The first phase of the Jelas campaign was launched in early May, after allegations surfaced over PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim’s involvement in a sex video scandal.
