All buses headed to Perhentian Pudu will be diverted to Perhentian Duta come Saturday, in what appears to be another effort to stunt the momentum of the upcoming Bersih 2.0 rally.

When contacted, acting senior manager at Perhentian Pudu Ismail Hassan said the management has been asked to reroute its buses to Perhentian Duta.

NONE "As far as I am informed, in discussion with the Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD), KL City Hall (DBKL) and the police, we were asked to move to those locations," he said.

Ismail also confirmed that KL-Seremban buses based in Klang Bus Stand at Pasar Seni will also be diverted to the South Integrated Transport Terminal (TBS) at Taman Bandar Tasik Selatan.

The diversions will commence at 12.01am on Saturday and will continue until 10pm.

He added that the move is only in effect on Saturday, after which operations will resume at their usual locations.

Meanwhile, in a statement, SPAD announced that stage buses heading into Kuala Lumpur will also be diverted, with the final stops for the buses listed as follow:

NONE a) Titiwangsa LRT/Monorail Station for busses from Jalan Semarak, Jalan Setapak/Genting Kelang, Jalan Ipoh, Jalan Kuching and Jalan Duta

b) Maluri LRT Station for busses from Jalan Kampung Pandan and Jalan Cheras

c) KL Sentral for buses from Federal Highway passing through Jalan Bangsar - Jalan Travers - Jalan Tun Sambanthan and Jalan Damansara

SPAD explained that the new routes for public transports is to ensure continued service due to plans by police to seal off roads into KL on Saturday.

SPAD had announced earlier today that no temporary bus permits to Kuala Lumpur will be issued for Friday and Saturday.

However SPAD chairperson Syed Hamid Albar has denied that it had anything to do with the rally expected to clog up the city and that all public transport services in Kuala Lumpur will operate as usual.
