A member of the trio calling themselves Datuk T, who screened a video purportedly of PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim engaged in a sex act last March, has urged prosecutors to use the video in the sodomy trial against the opposition leader.

NONE Shazryl Eskay Abdullah told Malay language daily Utusan Malaysia that this was to refute the testimony of orthopedic expert Dr Thomas Hoogland ( right ) that Anwar was unlikely to have engaged in the sodomy act because of his back injuries.

Saying this when met by Utusan yesterday, Eskay said the prosecutors could also call two American forensic experts to testify that it is “99.9 percent certain that the man in the video is Anwar”.

“Two documents were submitted to court when (the Datuk T) were charged in June, including research results showing that the video was authentic and the identity of the person in the video.

“As such, I urge the prosecutors to use the video and the authentication report as evidence,” he told the daily.

NONE The Datuk T had screened the video, claimed to have been recorded on Feb 21, to journalists on March 21 and have been convicted of screening pornography.

Anwar has categorically denied that he is the man recorded having sex with an Asian woman in the black-and-white video, which has also been leaked on the Internet.

Meanwhile, responding to a question, Eskay said Anwar could not claim that they did not know each other as Eskay too was recorded in the video.

“The saying goes, a picture tells a thousands words... what more a video that shows me in the same room as him, as authenticated by US video experts?” he asked.

Anwar is on trial for allegedly sodomising his former aide, Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan, on June 26, 2008.

The trial came to a close on Tuesday after 87 days of hearing, with the Kuala Lumpur High Court due to hear submissions from the prosecution and the defence on Nov 23 and 24.
