Anwar's sodomy trial postponed to Dec 8 and 9

PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim’s sodomy II trial has now been fixed for Dec 8 and 9 for submissions.
Initially it was fixed on Nov 23 and 24.
Kuala Lumpur High Court judge Justice Mohamad Zabidin Mohd Diah allowed the postponement today following the defence’s request that it needed more time to complete the transcripts of the proceedings.
Lawyer Sankara Nair said he and Param Cumaraswamy met Justice Zabidin in chambers along with solicitor-general II Mohd Yusof Zainal Abiden, DPPs Nordin Hassan and CK Wong.
“The defence has not been able to complete the transcription of the notes of proceedings. We applied to the learned Judge for an extension of time to file our submissions and Justice Zabidin, having considered the defence request, allowed the application and fixed Dec 8 and 9 as the new dates for submissions,” he said.
Hence, he said the earlier decided dates of Nov 23 and 24 are vacated.
Anwar is charged with sodomising his former aide Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan at the Desa Damansara condominium between 3.01pm and 4.30pm on June 26, 2008.
