Soon Rudolf the Reindeer will need a permit, too
VOXPOP 'I suggest that the Pekida buddies now lodgesome police reports, and take out an injunction against Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer.'
Teresa Kok: Police control of carolling is 'abuse'
Thinking:
Christmas carols are sung in a peaceful manner, advocating peace, justice and righteousness. Why the need for a police permit?
Carolling is doing the police a service in promoting peace. But those unruly crowds who stamp on cows' heads do not need permits, yet they incite hatred, dissent and violence.
I wonder what the PDRM (Royal Malaysian Police) wants? So we must apply for permit to spread peace but none to spread hatred?
Hang Babeuf: I suggest that the Pekida buddies now lodge some police reports, and take out a restraining injunction against Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer.
Clearly Rudolf's little procession cannot be allowed to move around without first declaring their intended route and specifying all stops along the way.
Docs: Here's another ‘Malaysia Bodoh' moment courtesy of PDRM. While carollers need be monitored by the police, carols blare from speakers continuously in all major shopping complexes all around the country.
Righteous: In a world that is supposed to be becoming more liberal, in a country where the people are demanding more freedom, these idiots don't want to listen to the people and keep trying to impose more and more rules, laws, and restrictions on us all.
Anak, bangsa, malaysia: With this episode, what will be Archbishop Murphy Pakiam's response? A mere long-held tradition of giving cheer to the Christian homes being politicised?
What is the use of having perceptions about building a relationship with the Vatican when such a small but important tradition is denied?
This is obviously an attempt to clamp down and infringe upon religious freedom. Definitely Umno is going to pay heavily come the 13th GE.
Black Panthar: What's happening, what are the police trying to do? Carolling is a tradition of the Christians, we visit only Christian homes. I hope the police will not make this Christmas a miserable one. So much for 1Malaysia.
Anonymous: Please don't fall into this Umno/BN trap to divide Christians and Muslims. The majority of Muslims are tolerant, only these Umno/BN goons are the troublemakers.
Poll: BN has edge over Pakatan for youth votes
Rick Teo: If the survey is correct and reflective of the current youth's position then it's time the Malay youth wake up.
This country is doomed to fail if the Malay youth continue to support Umno. Corruption is the most important reason why we have to change the government.
Our country is saddled with a national debt of RM462 billion and increasing by the minute. It's only a matter of time when the country can no longer sustain the leakages. That's when we become another Zimbabwe.
Disbeliever: BN/Umno will use whatever means it has to cajole and entice the fence sitters. It will project itself as the 'saviour'; it will drum into the rakyat that only Umno/BN can lead them and if they vote Pakatan Rakyat, the rakyat is doomed. This is the fear factor at work.
Anonymous: The urban youth in this country, irrespective of race, are very discerning. They are not so easily led astray by rhetoric and empty promises or double-talk.
The main issue they care about are issues like corruption, nepotism, blatant squandering of the rakyat's money and, of course, issues pertaining to justice and fairness. Unfortunately for the BN, in all of these issues that matter to the youths, it has failed miserably.
Tailek: A rubbish survey designed to confuse the young electorate. Just about every young man or woman I have spoken to (and this includes both Malays and non-Malays) on this very subject are fiercely anti-Umno/BN because of their continuous racism, religious play-acting and corrupt practices.
These young voters are willing to give Pakatan a shot at Putrajaya and if not up to mark, then out they go, too.
Multi Racial : Polls in Malaysia have a larger percentage of errors as compared to elsewhere. This is because interviewees would not want to be seen to be associated with the opposition, especially if they are working for GLCs (government-linked companies) and government agencies.
But when it comes to elections, it will be totally different. Just watch and see.
VP Biden: I agree, most Malaysians do not want to offend the ruling party in any interview. The GE will show differently. Let BN have their feel-good factor.
2lang: Anyway, it is a known fact amongst marketeers that in a survey, non-Malays are more vocal and direct in answers. Malays tend to be cautious in expressing their opinions, or at best, they would give a polite answer in order not to offend the interviewer.
2cts Worth: So far, every survey shows the government has the advantage. My crystal ball shows differently. It also shows their leaders behind some vertical iron bars.
