VOXPOP 'I thought the police said there had been no element of misappropriation? However, the big shots must have heard the public outcry.'

NFC: Police probing into cash for luxury condos

vox populi small thumbnail Joker: Why the need to investigate how NFC (National Feedlot Corporation) had the funds to invest in the luxury condominiums? Its chairman, Mohamad Salleh Ismail, at a press conference, said the funds came from the RM250 million soft loan.

Just bring him in for questioning and ask him to confirm if the newspaper reports are true and if he said they are true, then that's the end of story. What's there to investigate?

Docs: I'm sure the police will leave no stone unturned until they find a way to explain to the public how the NFC's car, condos and land deals are legitimate.

Anonymous: Good intentions alone are not good enough. It has to be matched by actions and results. We will wait for the outcome of the investigations before we pass judgment on the police.

To the police, I would say, do your job well and you will win the respect of the rakyat. If you cover up or give in to the pressure of the politicians, then you will be the scum of the nation. The ball is in your court.

Alan Goh: What is there for Salleh to take the opposition party to court? In the first instance, it was the Auditor-General's Report that highlighted the mess in the RM250 million soft loan.

Secondly, why was the RM250 million loan released before the completion of documentation and thirdly, why was part of the RM250 million meant for ‘ ternakan lembu ' (cattle breeding) used to purchase two condos in Bangsar valued at around RM14 million and also a piece of land in Putrajaya?

And why did the NFC chairman and his children pay themselves such high salaries even before the company could turn in a profit?

Ben-ghazi: I wonder if Salleh had used 'voodoo' to dupe the PM, DPM and the agriculture minister into giving him the RM250 million loan.

No government leader in his/her right mind would be so stupid as to use public money to the tune of hundreds of millions of ringgit and loan it to the husband of a serving minister.

So, Salleh, did you use 'voodoo'?

Small: I thought the police said there had been no element of misappropriation? However, the big shots must have heard the public outcry.

So there you go, Kak Izat (Shahrizat Abdul Jalil), the top guns want you out.

Lim Boo Chang to quit PKR and rejoin Gerakan

Queenie: Does Lim Boo Chang really believe PM Najib Razak is dynamic and visionary? Do you see palpable changes around you in the country? Don't you know he has abandoned 1Malaysia and has now opted to play the race and religion cards?

Gerakan must be mad to think it can make a difference when you rejoin them. They are already ‘ kaput ', my friend. You've just jumped from a pool of clear clean water into some dirty ‘ longkang '.

Saneesvara: It clearly shows that he is an opportunist. Knowing that Anwar will be sent to jail by Najib, he quickly changes sides. Better to lose this type of politician than to have him win under the Pakatan Rakyat banner and then later jump ship.

Pants on Fire: I think he found out he would not be given any seat, whereas many in Gerakan do not want to stand as they know they will lose their deposits.

Hello: Lim expected he would be given an constituency to contest when he joined PKR. On finding that this wasn't going to happen, he must have been very disappointed. But he couldn't just resign from PKR immediately.

He needed a grace period in order not to be seen as a ‘ katak '. So now he is leaving and he needs to give reasons other than the real one.

That is why he is denigrating PKR to rationalise his resignation. I say good riddance to bad rubbish.

Pakatan's social democracy takes root

Ksn: I hope Pakatan meant social justice by talking about a democracy with no religion and race involved.

Give priority to eradicate poverty as poverty is the worst form of violence. We have the resources, we are blessed in so many ways as a nation but what we do not have now is a competent government with integrity. We did not have one for the last 30 years.

We should cherish all the good things God has blessed us with and build on them. We have the best combination of cultures and religions in our people.

We have no time to waste either because we have to make up the 30 years we have lost in real terms as a nation and as Malaysians.

That should be the focus of Pakatan and all Malaysians. One more thing Pakatan should do is to get rid of godfathers, and have none in the future.

Makorang: "PAS' antennae tell them that the people want genuine reform, not illusory promises, which is why the party is prepared to relegate its long-held Islamic state agenda to the backburner... It would be unwise to assume that that agenda would stay there because support for syariah is a Muslim obligation..."

As a PAS member, I actually truly appreciate this statement.

Anonymous: There's no perfect political system, but there's a perfect political killer in every political system - corruption.
