'With or without Anwar, M'sia shall be freed'
YOURSAY 'Whatever happens to Anwar, we are grateful that the circus is ending. Maybe BN thinks that this move will end Anwar but...'
Defence witnesses 'not credible', says prosecution
Fredtan: Solicitor-general II Mohd Yusof Zainal Abiden said: "Was he (Anwar Ibrahim) afraid there would be unfair cross-examination? That wouldn't be true... as the court can protect him from unfair statements."
You said it right - Anwar or anyone against the BN government in any court case should certainly beafraid of unfair cross-examination.
However, you are dead wrong when you said that the court will protect Anwar from unfair statements. Do you think that the judge of the trial, Justice Mohamad Zabidin Mohd Diah (the judge who refused to recluse himself from the case on petition by the defendant) will do that?
The public perception is that all the appointees of the courts starting with the judge, DPPs ( including the solicitor-general II, state chemists, doctors and investigation police officers) are all devoid of professionalism - some to the point of breaking the law themselves.
Say what you may about the court - the judiciary has lost the confidence and trust of the people.
Wira: "The (Najib Razak-Saiful Bukhary Azlan) meeting took place on June 24, 2008, the offence was committed June 26 and the (police) report was lodged June 28. What conspiracy are we talking about?" asked Yusof.
Precisely Yusof, if there is a conspiracy for an event to happen according to the conspired story line, it has to be planned before the event.
The defence may not have said this but fair and sound-minded Malaysians think the trial is clumsily orchestrated to put the former DPM behind bars for having the audacity to hammer at the power grip of a corrupt Umno and that Saiful, with the help of those in power, planted his own semen tainted with DNA from the accused in his own anus.
That is why the sperm cells were never isolated and that the DNA obtained was not specific to the spermatozoa but taken for the seminal mix.
Magic Mountain: Maybe Anwar walked into a trap. Maybe he knew it was a trap. Maybe he knew Sodomy II was coming. And even if not Sodomy II, it would be something else.
Who knows what sort of threats or underhand tactics is coming to the opposition. After all, former Pakistan PM Benazir Bhutto lost her life.
Whatever happens to Anwar, we are grateful that the circus is ending. Maybe the BN thinks that this move will end Anwar and thus the Pakatan Rakyat, but we have just began the real process of ending of a corrupt regime. We know how to vote this GE13.
Cloudnine: It's foregone that Anwar will go to jail. The few rich, powerful and evil guys will make sure that happens. All of them work hand in hand.
When you can C4ed somebody to smitherins, deleteimmigration department entry records, what's so difficult in jailing a person? It's been done before.
Queenie: Pusrawi Hospital's Mohamed Osman Abdul Hamid not a credible witness? I wonder what he had to gain by noting down that a plastic object had been inserted into the anus of Saiful as told to him by Saiful himself.
He was not credible only because his preliminary findings did not serve the prosecution's case well. Anyway, I am disgusted with Umno politicians that they can stoop so low to neutralise a political opponent.
They have no sense of shame and decency and our very own PM dares claim that God is pleased with the way the country is governed by Umno-BN. You are one brave man, Mr PM, to even dare suggest that the Almighty favours a corrupt and evil regime.
Do not use his name in vain, which is his second commandment. But then, knowing you, you are prepared to sell your soul for earthly power.
The presiding judge must know and believe this case was politically motivated with the then DPM in the thick of it.
"He (Saiful) came to me about a scholarship," said Najib. You believe him? I don't, even if he is prepared to swear on the Holy Book. What is another ‘sumpah' after all? Just another to add to his list.
Blind Freddo: What sort of prosecutor makes a comment like "1.54pm: He submits that Anwar must explain why sperm was found on Saiful's rectal swabs."
Anonymous_40a7: Well, if that's how the prosecution calls the defence's evidence (neutral, flip-flop and speculative), then the prosecution's ‘evidence' can just be summed up in one word - "conspiracy".
That alone is enough to throw out the entire case from the court. Oh wait, I forgot this is Malaysia...
Ben-ghazi: Why did Saiful meet Najib before the date of alleged crime? If after the crime had happened, maybe we can understand it as he may want to take his complaint to then deputy chief executive of the government.
But why meet before the crime? This strongly suggests a conspiracy.
You ask one man (the judge), who is biased and pro-BN, to deliver the verdict. One man, who is not infallible, is asked to decide a man's fate.
So, what do you think the verdict will be? Your guess is as good as mine.
