Political cartoonist Zulkiflee Anwar Ulhaq, who is better known as Zunar, and caricaturist Johnny Ong are all set to join the "KillTheBill" group at their weekend migraine-causing KLCC weekend picnic to greet the New Year.

The movement, KillTheBill.org, said in a statement that Zunar would be present to draw cartoons depicting academic freedom, which is the theme for this afternoon's gathering.

Those joining the "picnic" can also have their personalised cartoons drawn on objects such as yellow umbrellas and yellow A4 sheets.Ready for another fun-filled protest, the organisers say on their Facebook page: "If cows can live in condos, humans certainly can draw cartoons in a park!"

The group also took lessons from a past gathering , during which water sprinklers were turned on them throughout the event, and advised participants to come with bubble sets and water pistols.

"The two are for a quasi-impromptu water festival, since KLCC has conventionally supplied us free water to cool down," the posting says.

This week's theme will focus on the plight of students and academicians in their struggle for academic freedom, KillTheBill.org,adds, as the Universities and University Colleges Act and National Civics Bureau have sown the seeds of the culture of ignorance among students.

The group also unveiled its 2012 mission statement, which includes growing a citizen's movement of Malaysians through weekly assemblies, building the perception that protest is fun and encouraging a culture of informed, passionate and empowered Malaysians.
