Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister Noh Omar today said that he was prepared to provide all relevant documents and witnesses if the Selangor government agrees to conduct a public inquiry into the alleged sand scandal in the state.

NONE He said the inquiry could also be done under the Special Select Committee on Competency, Accountability and Transparency (Selcat).

Noh, however, wanted a guarantee that action would be taken if he could prove the alleged corruption and malpractice in the state's sand mining business run by the state-owned company, Kumpulan Semesta Sdn Bhd.

"Now, is the Menteri Besar (Abdul Khalid Ibrahim) brave enough to do so? Will he step down or will he sack the responsible officer or exco member or will he order the company to be closed?" the minister said.

Noh, who is also Selangor Umno Liaison Committee deputy chairman, had recently claimed that he had evidence of corruption and malpractice in the state's sand mining business.

Yesterday, Abdul Khalid was reported as saying that the state government had requested two of Kumpulan Semesta Sdn Bhd's independent board representatives from Transparency International to interview Noh pertaining to his allegation.
