VOXPOP 'Threats to burn the PKR office down, now cars being damaged, yet the police have done nothing.'

Anwar unfazed by Sembrong attack

vox populi small thumbnail Karma: Someone is trying to turn the coming general election into a bloody one.

A protest outside the PKR office with threats to burn it down, another protest in Penang causing massive traffic jams, and now cars being damaged as well as other disruptions.

The police, however, have done nothing. They are to be blamed if the other party retaliates. The biasness of the police is encouraging potential chaos.

It started with the prime minister calling his supporters to defend Putrajaya at all costs. It's crazy for a PM to speak like this.

Bender: I wonder what would happen if PM Najib Razak's or his wife Rosmah Mansor's car got stoned or kicked like that?

Remember the poor chap from USM (Universiti Sains Malaysia) who made a remark about Najib's helicopter?

Even a simple joke like that caused the police (and every other Malay with but a drop of warrior blood in their veins) to declare war against the poor student.

Why then, in this case where there was such an obvious threat to lives and properties, there's only silence from those concerned.

Aren't the police worried about this kind of hooliganism amongst our youth and for threatening the peace? Shouldn't Perkasa be concerned over such disrespectful behaviour coming from Malay youths?

Isn't Rosmah feeling sad about this incident since this reflects the kind of things that the Permata programme should be concerned with, especially with Malay youngsters involved?

Sodom Me Sodom You: People need to be civilised and allow leaders from both sides of the divide to address issues publicly.

I would like to see democracy practised in my country. Let us make this change, for better or for worse.

Minister: Anti-Lynas rally won't influence gov't

Anonymous: Don't throw the book at the people. It is their lives and the lives of their future generations they are protecting. International Trade and Industry Minister Mustapa Mohamed, you are only where you are because they put you there.

Guarantees are of no use if years down the road, the people of Kuantan or Gebeng suffer from the ills of radiation. Remember Murphy's law - what can go wrong will go wrong.

Soo Jin Hou: How arrogant! We voted you into power to represent our interests. You have betrayed the interest of the people you are supposed to protect.

Benci Munafik: I thought Mustapa was one of the better ministers in Umno, now I know he is no better.

Unfortunately with the army camp in Jeli, he has a safe deposit of votes so it is almost impossible to kick him out. Hopefully, he will be taught a good lesson this time around in GE13.

True Grit: That is why we say we have an incompetent and irrational set of leaders who care not for the people who voted for them but for the ringgit and sen so precious to them.

Boot them out come GE 13. That is the only way to teach them not to mess around with the rakyat.

Mukhriz: M'sian firms can trade with Israeli companies

1Best: If trading with Israeli firms is alright so long as it is done by private companies, then it is alright too for NFC (National Feedlot Corporation) to use its government soft loan to buy condos as it was done in a private capacity.

Alas, we see the ills of the Umnoputras. No wonder the nation's money can be used in any private deal that can benefit them personally.

Geronimo: You can trade but you can't have diplomatic relations - what kind of reasoning is this?

Umno is good at spinning when they are caught with their pants down. It is like saying that "I know as a Muslim I can't drink beer, but I am doing it because the malt is good for cleansing my kidneys."

If this is the reasoning given by International Trade and Industry Deputy Minister Mukhriz Mahathir, then can I visit Israel and the Israelis visit us? After all, this is about tourism and nothing to do with the government.

How about it, Mukhriz? Or are you going to give us another spin on this one?

Alan Goh: Mukhriz, if Malaysian firms can trade with Israeli companies then why are Malaysians, who are Christians, not allowed to visit Israel, which is the Holy Land to Christians, like Mecca and Medina in Saudi Arabia are to the Muslims.

Malaysians of Christian faith will be grateful if you could get Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein to lift the ban.

Mohideen: Why were the Malaysians not informed of these trades with Israel by you and your father?

Yet your father is the loudest when it comes to condemning the Jews. Hypocrites of the highest order.

ACR: You can't separate international trade from politics. Your father was the one who promoted the 'Buy British Last' policy during his time. Don't tell us fairy tales.

Wira: Mukhriz, your party is publicly dead against the Tel Aviv regime and yet you strengthen it by allowing trade to flourish between them and us? What stupid argument is that?

If the world and Commonwealth countries had adopted your moronic thinking, Ian Smith's party would still rule Rhodesia today and Nelson Mandela would already have perished in prison.

Oscar Kilo: Contradicting statements. Deliberately ambiguous. Purposely noncommittal.
