Rug pulled from under disabled man's feet

VOXPOP 'Why question Frusis' intentions in making a police report? Isn't it his right as a citizen to do so?'

Cops quiz disabled farmer over Mong's letter

vox populi small thumbnail Lover Boy: Why are the police interested in how the letter was leaked? Sarawak assistant agriculture minister Mong Dagang has admitted writing the letter.

The line of questioning by the police of disabled farmer Frusis Lebi is bordering on harassment of this disabled man.

Can some good Sarawak lawyer take up an action against Mong for discrimination against a Malaysian citizen.

We want the court to rule if supporting an opposition party is a good reason to withdraw aid against Frusis, who has been declared an invalid by doctors.

Christy: Why do the police question the victim rather than the wrongdoer? Why ask stupid questions like why his aid was stopped? Isn't it clearly written in the letter?

Why question his intentions in making a police report? Isn't it his right as a citizen to do so?

Is it important how the matter was disclosed to him and how it was conveyed? Why ask such questions when Mong has already admitted to carrying out his 'democratic right'?

Wira: Why are the police summoning the handicapped victim? PDRM (Royal Malaysian Police) should summon Mong to confirm in person if the letter was indeed issued by him.

Nicole: It is not up to Mong to decide who deserves aid. It is up to the Welfare Department and Agriculture Department to decide who qualifies for subsidies.

Mong has clearly abused his power to pressure government departments to act to the detriment of the rakyat. Indeed, he should be charged.

Ferdtan: Do the police now know why they have such a bad reputation? People are talking about the letter that denied a disabled farmer from aid, and the police are interested to know who leaked the letter?

As usual, it's a case of shooting the messenger. We now not only must change the government, we must also kick out these men from the police force.

Fencesitter: Mong, what democratic rights are you talking about? If Frusis is not pro-opposition, would you take such action?

Zaid to contest Kota Bharu seat under Kita banner

Ferdtan: I don't know whether Parti Kita head Zaid Ibrahim is blushing or not (but I am for his sake) with his flip-flop decisions - one moment wanting to dissolve Kita and the next instant, to stand for election under the party.

From his decision, it is as clear as daylight; he is using both Umno and Pakatan Rakyat as a bargaining chip to get himself a seat to contest.

After leaving PKR, his statements 'tilted' to pro-Umno and then lately went back to favour Pakatan. Now he wants to be alone. I feel sorry for the guy - so desperate for a position that he lost himself.

MW: He is the most inconsistent politician in recent memory.

Borg Kinaulu: There you go. The fox has exposed his tail, once again. The so-called third force has only one task, i.e. to split the anti-Umno votes and give the contested seat to BN.

We have enough so-called "independents" to know that already.

Anonimous Z: I regard Zaid Ibrahim to be the best political comedian of Malaysia. He is just like Charlie Chaplin. It is really amusing reading the news about him. Every episode, his stand changes.

Cherry Bun: For Zaid to change positions about Kita and himself so often, only proves that he can no longer be trusted in politics.

The most likely scenario is that after his few recent announcements, he failed to get blessings from Pakatan to stand for a seat in GE13. So he has no choice but to go back to Kita. But in contesting Kota Bharu, he could lose his deposit.

Blogsmith: A rubber Japanese slipper should be his election symbol - flip flop, flip flop, flip flop.

MCMC under fire for not probing pro-Umno blogs

Ryvi Raman: If someone posts an adverse comment on one of the Umno leaders in their blog, you can see how fast MCMC (Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission) springs into action.

It's not a toothless tiger, but Umno's lapdog.

BujangSenang: This will only encourage other blogs to character-assassinate our leaders. When that happens, MCMC will be in no position to take action because that would mean it's not being consistent.

Paul Warren: Come on, all of you are going after the wrong horse. MCMC does not have the power to investigate any of the pro-Umno blogs. The ministry itself might get closed and the minister sacked.

Loyal Malaysian: When it suits their political agenda, the MCMC is fast to take action. Time and again, they have been reported as taking action against individuals when Umnoputras were the victims.

Sorry, Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng, you don't qualify as an Umnoputra. I wonder why you don't take those two scoundrels to court.

Though, yes, we know, you may come up against the judicial wing of the Umnoputras.
