Copgate: Expect NFA - no further action

VOXPOP 'There are many questions in the mind of rakyat. If there is truly nothing to hide then set up the tribunal.'

Ramli: Minister's response to 'Copgate' defies logic

vox populi small thumbnail Onyourtoes: Why can't we Malaysians stand up and take notice? These are serious allegations and accusations made by former senior officers from one of the most important law enforcement agencies in the country.

These people are their former colleagues, not some nincompoops out of nowhere. And you know what; so far the allegations and accusations are met with complete silence, not even a whimper from the attorney-general and the former inspector-general of police except just a bare denial or the fact that they were cleared by an earlier investigation (presumably by themselves).

Why can't they sue those who made these allegations if these are indeed lies? Why can't the police take action against these former officers if indeed what they are accusing is causing mischief and bringing disrepute to the office of AG and the good name of the former IGP?

Concern Ctzen: If there is nothing to hide, what's wrong in setting up a tribunal? Why can't the PM Najib Razak and Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein just establish the tribunal and let it run independently?

If this cannot be done, then there will be many questions remaining in the mind of rakyat.

Smartvoters: I hope the Bar Council, the Advocates Association of Sarawak and the Sabah Law Society will stand up, take the lead and pursue this need for a RCI (royal commission of inquiry) or a tribunal on this scandalous matter which affects the core institutions of our country, namely the AG's Chambers, the MACC (Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission) and the police.

If we Malaysians still keep silent on this issue, there will be no one wanting to stand up and fight for justice in this country in the future. The crooks and evil will triumph simply because there are no more good men or women wanting to stop them.

Appum: May I give former Commercial Crimes Investigation Department chief Ramli Yusuff a suggestion to overcome this problem.

I think the best approach now since the PM is not going to set up a tribunal or RCI, Ramli should go with his officers to Bukit Aman and make an official police report.

From what I understand, when a police report is made, the police will have to investigate the report. There is no need for the home minister to direct the police.

Ramli, you have come so far and many people have great admiration for your guts. The next step would be for the rakyat to set up a fund to help these poor officers who had been subjected to ‘sabotage' in the reinstatement of their dues (salaries, etc) despite being cleared by the courts.

Not Convinced: Appum's suggestion for Ramli to lodge a police report is good but flawed.

When you make a police report regarding politically-sensitive cases such as this, it's often that the alleged victim who is investigated and harassed, not the alleged culprit.

Kgen: Frankly there is no independent, creditable body left in Malaysia which can investigate this.

Everything has been corrupted by Umno, most of all the notorious MACC. Only a RCI made up of reputable people (not appointed by Najib) can investigate this.

If the panel is appointed by Najib it is as good as useless, just like the Teoh Beng Hock RCI.

Wee was not assaulted, say police and organisers

Artchan: If you cannot walk freely among the people you claim to represent, it means you have lost their trust. Worse still, you accuse them of hitting you when it never happened. Typical MCA behaviour - liars!

Anonymous_3e86: Well, let the police investigate. If it is found that no such attack occurred, Wee should be charged for making false accusations and those from the Kuantan MCA who made the police reports be charged as well.

Malaysia ABU: MCA can't respond to the actual issue of this rally, so it instead creates a non-issue to divert attention.

Lim Chong Leong: Wee, instead of forgiving that man, can you apologise to him for making a false accusation? Otherwise, many more will "punch you" with their middle finger.

'Attack' did happen, Wee tells police

Anonymous: People asked you to lodge a police report and you didn't want to. Now you accuse the police of making a wrong statement without a thorough investigation. What do you actually want? I'm confused.

Going Bananas: Even the MCA has no confidence in the professionalism of the police. Why should we?

Chritopher Loi: You were so scared that your imagination ran wild and thought somebody tried to hit you. Hitting you is just a waste of time. You are just one of the followers sent there by the boss.

Anonymous_1332846878: Looking at the man in the photos, this is the first time we see someone punching with fingers outstretched. Funny kind of punch, isn't it?

Kbe: He was surrounded by hundreds of people; saw a fist and felt a touch, and said he was assaulted. Get real.

Hisham, MACC can't be investigating itself
