Should Anwar accept Hindraf's invitation?

VOXPOP 'Hindraf may have done something daring, but it should not be looked at as a debt Pakatan perpetually owes to Hindraf.'

Anwar yet to decide on meeting with Hindraf

vox populi small thumbnail Jiminy Qrikert: There was a time when DSAI (Anwar Ibrahim) extended his hand in comradeship to P Uthayakumar and Hindraf to be part of the common front to fight for the interests of all Malaysians, regardless of race or religion.

At the time, DSAI needed as much help he could get and he was aware Uthaya and Hindraf could rally the Indians to the common cause of Pakatan Rakyat.

Instead, DSAI's offer of comradeship in a common fight was spurned and Uthaya issued a demand of 15 plus 38 (15 parliament and 38 state seats) which if Pakatan did not meet, Hindraf would rally the Indians against both BN and Pakatan.

Today, Uthaya is now a whimpering fallen false-hero still imagining he can impose conditions in his desperate attempt to stay alive politically. How bloody pathetic.

The very fact that he couldn't even see that the majority of urban Indians were already marching along with the rest of us for a regime change that condemns race-based politics simply means he is already irrelevant to the people's fight.

DSAI is just being polite in saying he ‘will consider'.

Gandhi: All of the Hindraf detractors are suffering from tunnel vision. The ungrateful Pakatan talks of multi-racialism, which is only lip service.

If not for Uthaya, there's no one Indian who will go all-out to expose the Indian dilemma. Uthaya is willing to work with Pakatan, but he wouldn't cow down like the other ‘mandores' in BN or Pakatan.

He means business and nothing else. The silent majority of Indians are not going to vote blindly.

Lie Detector: Hindraf and Uthaya have said many times that there is no difference between BN and Pakatan. In fact, Hindraf calls Pakatan leaders ‘mandores'.

They have threatened to impose three-cornered fights in seats with sizable Indian voters.

Hindraf forgets that Khalid Ibrahim was the only MB who braved hostility and abuse when he went to a town hall meeting in Shah Alam to fight for rights of a Hindu temple. Mandore indeed!

Wanderer: Hindraf may have done something daring to bring to others the awareness of people's power, but it should not be looked at as a debt Pakatan perpetually owes to Hindraf.

The Indians of Malaysia have always been fence-sitters and non-committal, they only react when the gravy train arrives. So why put blame on others for your misfortune.

As a matter of fact, it is about time Hindraf maps its future directions and choose the coalition they wish to be engaged - without pre-conditions.

PB Win: If Hindraf wants a change of regime, then it should participate in Bersih 3.0 unconditionally.

The Bersih cause is for each and every citizen of the country without separation of race and religion. Bersih is not a supporter of any political party as it fights for all and a clean and fair election.

If Hindraf feels that the Indians has been marginalised and oppressed by the current ruling government then they should fight for change of government in GE13 as this has been going on for more then 50 years.

They did it in 2008 without asking any opposition party for support, so why not again?

Pick-a-bone: A change of government must uplift every poor and needy person in Malaysia not just the poor Indians.

I am an Indian and my needs are also the needs of many other Malaysians as well. So, Hindraf please don't ask for the moon, lest you want to be moonstruck.

PSM: We'll fare better with own logo

Justapoint: The bigger picture is that all those opposing BN should fight one-to-one with BN.

PSM is part of the bigger picture to topple BN. PSM has done tremendous work in areas where it has stood. PSM should work hand in hand with Pakatan to topple BN.

At one time, Malays were scared of the DAP logo and Chinese scared of the PAS logo. Today people look into the quality of the candidates. And PSM has one of the best and most principled of candidates.

As PKR deputy president Azmin Ali said, PSM was more loyal than some of PKR own candidates since the last election.

Anyway PSM is not asking for 15 seats, just four. For the work PSM has done in Malaysia, they deserve more.

Patriot88: PSM, please don't use your own logo. Continue with the PKR logo instead. Don't be so petty over the trivial issue of whose logo to use. Look at the bigger picture - to topple Umno from Putrajaya.

Yeow: Pakatan, please give them the seats they have identified, and where they are serving. This is would be a magnanimous gesture of a truly democratic Pakatan.

Onyourtoes: PSM, please don't get swollen headed. What is PSM without D Jeyakumar? Anyway your socialist ideas are good to hear, but impractical to implement.

There are no successful socialist countries, just like there are no successful countries based on religion.

Ketam_ajar_anak_berjalan: Another great slap on the faces of arrogant DAP and PKR. PSM should go for a three-cornered fight if DAP refuses to allocate Jelapang and Sungai Siput.

The chances for PSM to win these seats are 100 percent guaranteed.
