Former inspector-general of police (IGP) Musa Hassan has claimed that the opposition tried to lure him to join their parties when he was still serving as IGP.

Telling this to Utusan Malaysia , Musa said he dismissed the invitation as the police force is taught not to involve politics with the job.

“Until today, I still maintain the same principle, that is not to get involved in politics as it gives me an opportunity to express my views,” the daily quites him as saying.

The former IGP retired on Sept 12, 2010.

Musa said he is happy to occupy his retirement days with his family and grandchildren.

“I prefer to spend time to entertain my grandchildren as when I was with the police force I did not have the time to do such things,” he said.

Over the weekend, former Bukit Aman CID chief Fauzi Shaari was reported to have joined PAS.

Fauzi handed over his application form to PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang in Ulu Spetang near Taiping, Perak.
