1M'sia email: Everyone but Umno knows

VOXPOP 'Anyone with a grain of common sense knew when the 1Malaysia email project was announced, it would be a total failure.'

Shares of 1Malaysia email operator plunge 70pct

vox populi small thumbnail Not Confused: Really, is anyone surprised at this development? I think not.

Anyone with a grain of common sense and only rudimentary IT knowledge knew when the 1Malaysia email project was announced, it would be a total failure.

Even crumbs in the form of a support contract hasn't saved the company. It's just one more joke - a further example of the government throwing taxpayers' money at a half-baked idea or company.

They just haven't got a clue. Still it makes for some entertainment, doesn't it?

Chipmunk: We, the rakyat, knew very well that this 1Email project would be a big flop right from the beginning but who in Umno-BN will listen to the rakyat?

Odin: Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Idris Jala, yes, we believe you. Of course, it isn't a bailout of a loss-making crony company.

And naturally, no public funds were expended. Try-but-fail-Cubes had showed tremendous potential, and the government had thought that it was only proper to help a bumiputera company succeed in line with the NEP.

And no worries, man. This - ahem - small drop in share value is only a passing cloud.

Keturunan Malaysia: Not to worry. They have changed the outspoken Petronas chief. The new one is every ready, willing and able to 'bail' Tricubes out at a blow of the whistle.

Jimmy Ng: Crony companies must be allowed to go down without any last minute attempts to salvage or save it with taxpayers or government funds. Be prepared to pay the price if this is ignored.

Anonymous_4196: Another failed scheme. How does Umno expect us to trust them with our money?

Anonymous_5fb: There are so many emails we can use that are free and reliable. Why do we need a paid 1Malaysia email? For sure, this type of 'fake' company will not last long. Who is so stupid to invest in its shares?

Yellow Bird: My question is... who's buying the shares between 0.03 and 0.035 sen?

Blind Freddo: There was one small glitch in this grand plan - public servants do not reply to emails.

Selangor to sue MCA over RM1bil scandal claim

Fair&Just: As the general election nears, the damage has been done. The purpose is not about the truth to all their allegations but to create an image of corruption among the rural folks through the mainstream media.

It is really disappointing and sad that the country has come to this and is infested with unscrupulous lawmakers wasting time in creating perceptions, innuendos and insinuations instead of nation building.

Anonymous #18452573: While suing and police reports has become the play of the day in Malaysia, no thanks to the BN regime, in this particular case, many of us understand and appreciate Selangor Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim's stand.

Selangor suddenly has a new ring to it compared to before, when it was under the BN regime of former menteri besar Dr Mohd Khir Toyo.

Compass: There is this irresistible feeling that Khalid is unable to provide answers to Chua's allegations. This threat of suing and not answering questions is so Umno. Come on Khalid, you can do better.

Blind Freddo: PKR is supposed to be standing for open and honest government with a bit of good old fashioned integrity. This reaction is the egos of insecure men who have no confidence in their own decisions.

It looks like a great future ahead - just like the past.

Amen: This is the new order of the Pakatan government - can't take criticism, now they resort to suing to shut people up from asking questions. They forget they are the government and can be accused of many things, like they frequently do to the federal government.

Survivor: Amen, there is a difference between asking question and spreading innuendos, period.

Odin: A law suit is warranted in this case. The accusation made against the Selangor government is not a mere act of criticising it but may be construed to be calculated to subject the said government to great public odium.

Furthermore, the desire to incriminate rather than to criticise per se can be deduced from the initial announcement made by the accuser of a substantial amount of money (RM1 billion).

The large sum mentioned is obviously meant to serve as a teaser to keep public interest and scrutiny. That the amount has been almost immediately lowered by 74 percent to RM260 million does not portray the accuser in a good light.

Above all, the allegation made is completely untrue.

Louis: A clean government is not afraid to go to court. Singapore is an example. If any of our clowns were to accuse Singapore government of corruption, surely they will be sued.

Simply, the government is clean. Khalid is right. Show that Selangor government is clean.

Ex-Wfw: MCA/Gerakan, obviously you think you could gather some votes from some light-headed Malaysians. That was history. Today, many are better educated than their parents.

Hence your publicity stunt can only bring you more woes than votes. And maybe only bankruptcy to your party which we all know has assets of some RM2 to RM3 billion, which would be better distributed to the community.

Insignificance: Bravo! I applaud the action. In fact if it is possible, allow then file for urgent action because the rakyat wants to know the truth before the GE 13.
