The gang will then influence the syura council, the party highest decision making body at its meeting in the evening of the same day, to accept the decision, said the source.

"It is learnt that Anwar had given directions to the Anwarinas gang who sit in the central committee to sack Nasharuddin at the meeting of central committee to be held in the morning of Sept 9.

"It is believed that Anwar wants Nasharuddin to be sacked before the syura council meets in the evening of the same day," the source told Utusan.

However, PAS vice-president Salahuddin Ayub stressed that syura council will not be influenced by any quarter in its decision.

He told Sinar Harian that the rumour claiming Anwar will influence the council is irresponsible slander.

Nasharuddin, who is also Bachok MP, had come under fire for questioning PAS' stance on hudud and demanding that the party quit Pakatan Rakyat.

The PAS central committee has left it to the syura council to determine Nasharuddin's fate, since he is no longer sits in the former.
