Kelantan PAS Youth has suggested that former deputy president Nasharuddin Mat Isa resigns as Bachok MP, after he was seen with premier Najib Abdul Razak in Saudi Arabia and for questioning PAS' stance on the hudud.

“If he is no longer interested to be with PAS, it would be appropriate for him to resign as MP instead of continuing to betray the mandate given to him by the people of Bachok ...,” said Kelantan PAS Youth secretary Mohd Nuri Mat Yaacob.

He was responding to Nasharuddin's remarks urging PAS to quit Pakatan Rakyat, because the DAP has rejected the proposal to implement the Islamic penal code in Malaysia.

Responding in a statement published by Harakahdaily , Mohd Nuri said Nasharuddin has been repeating the arguments used by Umno leaders, despite the fact that it was the federal government that had stopped the Kelantan government from implementing the hudud.

He told Nasharuddin to declare whether his loyalty is still with PAS, as his recent remarks are being seen as “pro-Umno”.

NONE According to Utusan Malaysia , the TV3 ‘Buletin Utama’ last night aired a media interview with Nasharuddin in Mecca, in which he demanded that PAS makes a clear stand on DAP's rejection of hudud.

“As a party member, I demand that PAS states its real stance relating to this issue. Members at the grassroots level are worried when they see what is happening between PAS and DAP,” Nashruddin (left) reportedly said.

“It seems like DAP and (its chairperson) Karpal Singh have consistently rejected the establishment of an Islamic state and the implementation of the hudud. Something must be done, and for me, PAS needs to withdraw from the opposition coalition.”

He commented that, as long as PAS remains in Pakatan, efforts to establish an Islamic state and implement the hudud will not materialise due to resistance from DAP.

Utusan also published a photograph on its front page, showing Nasharuddin with Najib in Mecca, where the premier had met several religious scholars from Saudi Arabia during the extraordinary summit of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.
