Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) has cancelled the screening of the movie Tanda Putera tomorrow and instead replaced the time slot scheduled for it with a discourse on the movie.

UiTM's Film, Theatre and Animation Faculty, in a statement in Shah Alam today, said the cancellation was made out of respect to decisions made about its screening by higher authorities.

The movie directed by Suhaimi Baba tells the story of the role played by Malaysia's second prime minister Abdul Razak Hussein and his deputy Dr Ismail Abdul Rahman in healing the nation after the May 13, 1969 racial riots.

The movie was scheduled to be screened in conjunction with the university's Film Promotion Night 2012 event.

Enquiries can be made at the Facebook site for the discourse ‘Malam Diskusi Seni Filem Tanda Putera ’ or by contacting the marketing coordinators Noorli Mokhtar at 019-3674843 or Zaaba at 017-7776946.
