The Selangor government's announcement on the third bridge for Klang is just to deceive the people and divert attention from the unresolved water issue, says Noh Omar.

The agriculture and agro-based industry minister also questioned the state government's action of announcing the bridge project only now and not in the early days of its administration.

NONE "If the federal government had stated some time ago that it wished to carry out the bridge project, I believe they (state government) would not allow it and give all kinds of excuses," he told reporters in Sepang today.

"For example, to resolve the water supply issue, the federal government had spent billions for the benefit of the people, and only left for the water retention pond to be built but why the state government does not allow that?

"If they are really sincere, they should cooperate with the federal government's implementation of projects, and not cover up the water issue and blame the government on the bridge issue," he added.

On the state budget, Noh said it was largely theory as many of the promises made had not been fulfilled and there were still no big projects which the people of Selangor could be proud of.

In another development, Noh said 100 limousines were offered by Airport Limousine Malaysia Sdn Bhd to be used for promoting the Malaysian Agriculture, Horticulture and Agro-Tourism (Maha) Exhibition to be held from this Friday to Dec 2 at the 130ha MAEPS site.

"We are targeting three million visitors this time including foreign tourists, besides 25 foreign participants," he said.
