PAS today inveiled its ‘Welfare State’ election truck, which will be used to facilitate its political talks around the country.
"The trailer will begin its debut on Feb 23, in Pendang, Perak," said Mohamad Sabu, who is the party’s deputy president.
He said that the trailer - which includes a 40 x 9 feet stage, a PA system, projector ,Wi-Fi and other modifications - was sponsored by “friends”, and that PAS did not fork out any money.
However, he did not divulge further on the identity of the sponsor.
He said that the trailer will be used as a stage in the party’s major ceramah (talks) nationwide, until PR manages to take down Putrajaya.
He added that the new trailer cost nearly RM300,000.
PAS joins PKR, DAP, Gerakan and MCA to launch its own election vehicles.
The trailer was launched by PAS President Hadi Awang, who said that the trailer is a new approach by PAS to travel across the country during the election campaign.
PAS’ slogan, ‘Welfare State’ was printed on the body of the truck in Malay, Chinese and Tamil, while ‘Undilah PAS’ and ‘PAS for all’ were printed on the backdrop of the stage.
