"We are very heartened and encouraged by Nazri’s categorical assurance yesterday that should BN lose the mandate of the people, the coalition would step down and peacefully hand over power.

PKR leader said when speaking at an international conference on the 13th general election, in Kuala Lumpur today.
Instead, Anwar ( left ) hinted that such an assurance must be given by Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak instead.
"I mean we appreciate it very much and spoken like a true gentleman. But this kind of thing must come directly from the horse’s mouth and I think it’s the responsible thing to do."
During the conference yesterday, Nazri had promised that BN “will not stay one second more” should it lose the mandate of the people, such as had happened in the opposition-ran states of Penang, Selangor and Kedah.
Speedy manner
When asked to comment on the intrusion by armed intruders at Lahad Datu, Anwar said: "Fortunately we have the privilege of getting briefings from senior ex-military generals who actually explained to us the circumstances and the possibility of handling this in a speedy manner.
"I have confidence in the capacity of our forces to do that. However any protracted delay would cause consternation, worry and concern among Sabahans, even those not directly affected by these armed intrusions.
"We are not against the Sulus, we are against militant insurgents. And when dealing with militant groups, the governments must be ready and tough."
He also emphasised that the focus should be on national security and election issues should not be brought into it.
