Kit Siang has 'touch and go' notoriety, says Soi Lek
MCA president Dr Chua Soi Lek has mocked DAP parliamentary leader Lim Kit Siang's decision to contest in Gelang Patah, Johor.
MCA president Dr Chua Soi Lek has mocked DAP parliamentary leader Lim Kit Siang's decision to contest in Gelang Patah, Johor.
"If we look at his track record, he had never spent long terms in any constituency.
"If we want to say it politely, he is a 'hit and run' politician. If we want to say it rudely, he is a 'touch n go' politician," said Chua in a press statement today.
Chua said that Lim has never done anything for his constituents and is only interested in serving the party's interest.
"Serving the people is never in Lim Kit Siang’s dictionary," said Chua.
Chua said that an elected representative should make voters their number one priority and voters should reject "touch and go" politicians.
Lim has been the member of Parliament for of Bandar Melaka (1969-1974), Kota Melaka (1974-1978), Petaling Jaya (1978-1982), Kota Melaka (1982-1986), Tanjong (1986-1999) and Ipoh Timur (since 2004).

He was absent from Parliament between 1999 and 2004 because he failed to win the contest for Bukit Bendera.
His foray into Gelang Patah, traditionally an MCA stronghold, is part of Pakatan Rakyat strategy to make inroads in Johor.
Chua, who like Lim hails from Johor, said DAP's strategy in Johor was to eliminate MCA because it knows Pakatan won't be able to threaten BN's rule of the state.
"They only aim to pit Chinese against Chinese to take out MCA.
"Should that become a reality, my worry of two-party system becoming a two-racial system may come true as Umno grows stronger in the Government and DAP gains more seats as the opposition.
"(The) Chinese will eventually become the largest losers for being used as DAP pawns," said Chua.
