'Business as usual' as S'gor exco meets

Executive councillor Elizabeth Wong has indicated that the exco meetings will continue.
“This is not our last (meeting). I believe that there will be a few more (meetings) and it’s business as usual in Selangor ...,” she said today.
Wong, the Bukit Lanjan assemblyperson, said the intended dissolution had been discussed for the past three months, but not at today’s meeting.
The state government will announce the date when the time comes, she said.
Earlier this month, Khalid said that he didn't rule out the possibility of the state government dissolving the state assembly this month.
The exco meeting, which is normally held every Wednesday, was held two days earlier and followed by a press conference.
Another meeting
More than 50 journalists attended today's press conference today expecting a major announcement by the menteri besar.
However, Khalid (

) didn't show up today as he needed to chair another meeting, said Wong.
Meanwhile, Wong asked all the senior citizens in the state not to sign any form put to them, which claimed to assist them in obtaining the RM1,000 allowance from the state government.
She said that the state government had received a complaint from a resident in Kajang, saying that people were distributing the form to senior citizens.
However, she believed that their signatures would be used as a tool in court to sue the state government for not distributing the RM1,000 to citizens above 60.
Wong also announced that former Terengganu police chief Kamaruddin Mat Desa was selected to head the state information board under the Freedom of Information Enactment 2010, to listen to the appeals by the people under the act.
She also said around 40 information officers were selected in the state government departments under the enactment to assist the people to obtain documents and information from the state.
