Youth groups today gathered in front of the Election Commission (EC) building in Putrajaya to present a memorandum calling for chairperson Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof to resign over allegations of electoral fraud in the recently-concluded 13th general election.

NONE During the 2.30pm gathering, which was attended by some 50 people and led by Solidariti Mahasiswa Malaysia (SMM) president Safwan Anang, the group carried replicas of two black coffins with the “EC” written on it, alongside banners which read “GE13 is the dirtiest’.

When addressing the group after the memorandum was successfully handed over to a EC representative, Safwan said Abdul Aziz has seven days to respond.

"If he doesn’t, we go down to the streets and he can face the wrath of the people on Saturday.

NONE "We will take this matter to Istana Negara," he said under the watch of 10 security personnel.

In the memorandum, the group demanded also demanded that the results of the 13th general election be rejected, that a re-election be held and that a new Election Commission be formed.

“We have given the EC room to answer; we have been patient. So this time we have acted for only we can save our own country,” he added.

Also present was PKR-linked NGO Solidariti Anak Muda Malaysia (Samm) leader Badrul Hisham Shahrin, better known as Chegubard.
