A group of independent cartoonists will launch their own movement against alleged electoral fraud on Saturday.
Cartoonists Against Election Fraud (CAEF) aims to publish cartoons on both online platforms and in the form of books to raise public awareness of the alleged fraud in the polls concluded on May 5.
The launch will be held at Amcorp Mall in Petaling Jaya, with Lembah Pantai MP Nurul Izzah Anwar set to officiate the movement in the evening.
"CAEF will also hold roadshows regarding this issue," said CAEF's leader Zukiflee Anwar Haque, who is more popularly known as Zunar.
He will be leading some 15 cartoonists who are to be part of this movement.
"The cheating included voting rights given to non-citizens, counting fraud, the use of non-indelible ink, phantom voters, dubious early voters, vote-buying and a dubious electoral roll.
"As a cartoonist, I am of the opinion that (Prime Minister) Najib (Abdul Razak) and BN are not legally qualified to rule Malaysia," he added in a statement released today.
He said CAEF will cooperate with the likes of Bersih, the coalition for clean and fair elections - which is setting up a people's tribunal to look into alleged electoral fraud - and other NGOs.
"CAEF will also seek to establish ties and networking with other international cartoonists' movements and NGOs for the same purpose," Zunar noted.
"CAEF's goal is to put pressure on the authorities to not recognise the results of the 13th general election, and for a re-election to be held and monitored by authoritative bodies such as the United Nations.
"CAEF will not recognise Najib as the prime minister of Malaysia."
