PARLIAMENT The government has yet to identify the alleged cybertrooper group called the Red Bean Army, a deputy minister admitted today.

NONE Deputy Communications and Multimedia Minister Jailani Johari ( right ) said that the ministry has not identified those who make up the allegedly DAP funded group.

“We do not know who they are yet, though we have received information that they are funded from that side (opposition),” he said during Question Time in the Dewan Rakyat today.

He said that his ministry and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) are still investigating the matter.

Earlier, Bung Moktar Radin (BN-Kinabatangan) had asked the ministry on its course of action in probing the Red Bean Army allegations.

Meanwhile, Tony Pua (DAP-Petaling Jaya Utara) asked the government to apply the same standards of investigation in probing the allegations made by several bloggers last year that Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng’s son had sexually harassed a female student, an allegation that later proved to be untrue.

“We have submitted all the printscreens and documents necessary, but the ministry has not responded,” he said.

NONE However, Jailani did not respond to the query, merely asking the complainant to provide more proof to back up their complaints.

Defence Minister Hishammuddin Hussein , meanwhile, said that setting up a royal commission of inquiry (RCI) on the Lahad Datu incursion would be “sub judice”

“I personally would like to have an RCI but there are still legal actions being taken and we have arrested some 500 people,” he said.

He was responding to a question from Nurul Izzah Anwar (PKR-Lembah Pantai).
