The allegation by Inspector S Hare Krishnan that he is being framed for the alleged murder of N Dhamendran will be investigated, says Inspector-General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar.

"We will investigate. Like I have said, we investigate all police reports,” he told a press conference at the federal police headquarters at Bukit Aman this morning.

“But for us to uncover the actual truth, he must come forward and now he that has, we will uncover the truth."

Khalid said the police will not protect anyone on the matter.

Hare Krishnan, the fourth suspect in the case, turned himself in this morning at the at the Bukit Aman police headquarters at 10am and was taken to the Dang Wangi district police headquarters.

'Never met victim'

In his police report, which was sighted by Malaysiakini , Hare Krishnan complains that the lock-up sentry had not filled the log book since the morning of the day Dhamendran died.

As news of the death emerged, instructions were given to fill up the log book, including putting Hare Krishnan's name as being the person responsible for taking Dhamendran in and out of his cell, the police report reads.

"I had (not) met (or) touched Dhamendran that day or at any time," he says in the report.

On June 5, three police personnel - a sergeant and two corporals - were charged with the murder of Dhamendran under Section 302 of the Penal Code, a crime that carries the mandatory death penalty.

Jaffri Jaafar, 44, Mohd Nahar Abd Rahman, 45, and Mohd Haswadi Zamri Shaari, 32, have pleaded not guilty to committing the offence between 12.20pm and 2.50pm on May 21, 2013, at the Special Investigations Division (D9), Level 7 of the Kuala Lumpur police contingent headquarters.
